USAPN Goals
The USAPN had two goals: to mobilize a leader and network of pray-ers in every state, and to have a solemn assembly in every state by the year 2000.
Since then the USAPN has continued to establish and accelerate the process of connecting strategic prayer leadership throughout every state and region of the United States. This has enhanced the USAPN's ability to communicate over major issues. Because America is a federation of states, it is the US SPN's belief each state must be dealt with individually for the healing of the nation.
The USAPN attempts to meet annually in each region to hear from God for the nation of America and to implement strategies in our spheres of influences. State Coordinators support the USAPN's initiatives to facilitate revival across America through promoting statewide unity and networking prayer leaders. Other goals are to open paths of reconciliation and bridge any gaps created by iniquitous sins and patterns that would defile the land and allow the enemy legal right to develop and maintain strongholds in our midst. These iniquitous patterns cause gender, racial, and spiritual division. The USAPN has done much reconciliation so now we are coming together corporately to enter into breakthrough praying throughout the states of this nation. The wars are intensifying, but the army is growing.
USAPN History
In the summer of 1989 a concerned group of Christian leaders dared to believe the United States could once again be a nation "under God." The idea for a network of intercessors dedicated to strategic-level spiritual warfare emerged from the Lausanne II Congress on World Evangelization held in Manila, Philippines. Less than a year later it was birthed.
Led by C. Peter Wagner, the initial phase of the International Spiritual Warfare Network took place in California on February 12, 1990. More than two dozen recognized spiritual leaders attended. Following several years of annual gatherings, the official United States Spiritual Warfare Network (US SWN) was launched in January 1997, under the direction of Cindy Jacobs.
In 2000, C. Peter changed the name of the network from the US SWN to the United States Strategic Prayer Network.
Since their inaugural sessions, the US SPN has established 14 Task Forces and 50 State Coordinators (plus the District of Columbia), along with the teams of strategic-level intercessors.
